Donkey Experiences - Donkey Care Training Courses

Where better to learn how to care for donkeys and mules than from the international animal welfare charity, The Donkey Sanctuary?

For over 40 years, the charity has provided more than 16,500 donkeys and mules with lifelong care.

Come on a Donkey Care Training Course with the Donkey Sanctuary

Keen to impart their knowledge and educate owners on how to look after these beautiful animals correctly, the charity holds regular training courses for all levels, from beginner to the more advanced, at seven locations throughout the UK.

As well as discovering best practices for ensuring general health and wellbeing, you can also learn why donkeys display different types of behaviour, thanks to the Introduction to Donkey Behaviour Course. What’s more, you can learn all about how to use clicker training but book soon as places fill up fast.

One day courses in donkey care are held throughout the UK

Introduction to Donkey Care

Donations welcome

This one day course is held throughout the year at various different venues ensuring that everyone interested in learning more about donkeys has the chance to attend.

Combining the latest knowledge about caring for donkeys with practical hands on experience, this course covers areas such as: stable and pasture management, signs of ill health, correct feeding, grooming and handling.

This course is a minimum requirement for anyone wishing to foster donkeys from The Donkey Sanctuary and will equip you with a great foundation for anyone looking to become more confident and knowledgeable around donkeys.

If you can't do the donkey care course, you could always visit the donkeys in Sidmouth, Devon, or one of the donkey therapy assisted centres.
