Get involved - ways to get closer to nature and help wildlife

Gerald Durrell Week in Jersey

(June 01, 2016)

If you've been watching the television series about the Durrell family and Gerald Durrell's young days, you may be interested in the Gerald Durrell Week held in Jersey at the Durrell Conservation Academy from Saturday 25th June 2016 - Friday 1st July 2016.

Get to know the expert staff who'll show you behind the scenes, and explain how the work at the Durrell Wildlife Park supports its projects around the world.  Find out about the conservation programmes in Madagascar and Mauritius and the impacts they are having on species, wild habitats and people.

The week includes field trips to Jersey-based projects which are contributing to wildlife conservation in the island.  You can also learn about Jersey's natural history from local history.  The week involves an informal mix of talks, walks, visits, readings from Gerald Durrell’s books and special behind-the-scenes access to parts of Durrell Wildlife Park normally not open to the public.
