Save your used postage stamps to help animals (December 04, 2008)

Now there's no excuse for anyone of any age to be bored during the Christmas period.  If you keep your used stamps and send them (minus envelope) to any number of charities who can make good use of them.

The following charities can benefit from your used postage stamps.

The Oldies

This lovely charity aims to rehome older dogs.  Since they are often overlooked when it comes to choosing a new pet, they tend to be more difficult to home.  Many find themselves looking for a new home because their owners have died or had to move into a nursing home where it has not been possible to take the pet. Please send all stamps, UK or not, to Oldies Club Stamps, c/o 14 Colwyn Terrace, Leeds, West Yorkshire  LS11 6RB

Save the Albatrosses

The RSPB can raise money from ALL types of stamps  for their Save the Albatross campaign – whether they are used or un-used, UK, foreign or even first day covers. For example, we raise £1.50 per kg for UK stamps and £12.50 per kg for foreign stamps

1. Post your stamps to RSPB Stamps, PO Box 6198, Leighton Buzzard, Bedfordshire LU7 9XT. Please do not include any other correspondence to this address.

2. People wanting to donate first-day covers or stamp albums can send them to: Save the Albatross Stamp Appeal (Special Stamps and Albums), RSPB, The Lodge, Sandy, Beds SG19 2DL.

3. If you have a large number of stamps, why not deliver them to one of the RSPB's nature reserves and enjoy a day out at the same time?

4. You are also welcome to drop them off at of the RSPB's regional offices.

World Wildlife Fund

Please send your stamps to WWF UK. Panda House, Weyside Park, Catteshall Lane, Godalming. Surrey. GU7 1XR
