Great late deals - and many take pets too!

If you want to make a late booking for a holiday in the UK, then the good news is that it's not too late.  There are plenty of late deals on cottages, including pet friendly cottages if you want to take your hound with you - the more flexible you are in terms of location, the more likely you are to find something.

Here are a number of companies with links to their websites late deals on cottages - or if you're looking to plan holidays in the UK. Some focus on the south west of England, others on a particular county, such as Norfolk, but you'll be sure to find something which suits your needs.

Many of these companies are supporting conservation and wildlife organisations, either in their own area or further afield, so we've included details on what they're doing where we can.

They have lots of pet friendly places

Helpful Holidays have over 600 up-market holiday homes to choose from and they book over 17,000 holidays a year. Their business is 27 years old and it's earned a strong reputation for quality cottages, a very high level of customer service (and satisfaction) and in their words a “tell it like it is” approach. They've also produced a very nice PDF for dog owners who want to take their dog away on holiday, and point out that many of the staff are dog owners so they're happy to talk to you about making your holiday a successful one  They have an excellent search facility, making it easier for you to find the right location and cottage for you in the areas in which they have their homes. You really can go into quite a bit of depth in what you want from your cottage.  I love the pics of the dog for the dog friendly cottages - even he looks helpful!  WIth thier offices located in the Dartmoor National Park, they are aware of the importance of the environment and this year, their chosen nominated charity is the Marine Conservation Society.
