Donkeys

Visit donkeys for a little donkey magic!
Next time you're on holiday in Devon, drop in to see the Donkey Sanctuary at Sidmouth.

The Sanctuary is a very special place indeed, with lots of donkeys waiting to meet you.  We had a fantastic day there - I fell in love with Apollo, who had long, firm brown ears and a very lovely nature.  He was a very handsome donkey.

We strolled around the grounds, walked through lush green woodland and grassy hills down to the sea.  Then it was back up to the centre for scones with jam and cream, and a pot of tea.

We learnt a great deal about the donkey and the work the Sanctuary is doing worldwide.  All in all, it was a wonderful day and I can't wait to go again.

Watch the video about the Donkey Sanctuary for yourself and enjoy the watching the donkeys and work of the Donkey Sanctuary.

Help the Donkey Sanctuary!

Why not adopt a donkey as a Christmas present for someone?  We adopted Moses for my folks and they really enjoy getting their updates from the Sanctuary in the form of a newsletter.

Many donkey lovers will enjoy a fantastic Donkey Care Experience for a birthday present.

The Donkey Sanctuary also has lots of ideas for Christmas presents, so visit their shop for inspiration!

Donkeys do a lot for people - for example, a number of donkeys from the Elisabeth Svendsen Trust can be found visiting residential homes or giving gentle rides to children with special needs.
